Early Thurs. morning about 4 am, we had to take Gage to Primary Childrens Hospital. It all started on monday with a little cough then each day it just got worse. Finally by wed. night he sounded horrible. He didn't want to sleep and his cough sounded like a barking seal, you could tell it really hurt him. I was so scared and I didn't want to wait for his doctors office to open. So not knowing exactly where it was, we left for the hospital, and to top it all off it was snowing, Gage slept the whole way which was good. We were getting close to the hospital, which is pretty much up in the mountains, and we saw a couple of deer crossing the road, it was pretty up there with the snow and big homes. Anyway we got him checked in and they got him in a room, the nurse said that he sounded like he had croup. Croup is a virus that he caught from somewhere and even though it sounds like it is in his lungs its really in the throat. Everything starts to swell and the breathing hole shrinks to the size of a straw hole. So they brought in a saline solution for a breathing treatment, we had to do that twice, they also gave him a steroid to help the swelling. They wanted to monitor him for a few hours and finally about 8 o'clock they let us go home. It was a looooong and scary night.
Oh gee that does not sound good. Poor little man. I hope you all get well soon!
